
Bhubaneswar: Schools for offline classes for the standard VIII to XII opened in all the 30 districts of Odisha. Around 37,533 schools opened on Monday.
A total 14,42,790 students attended on the first day, out of the total enrolled number of 24,45,407 students of these schools.
High secondary schools in Deogarh district recorded maximum attendance with 85%. In Secondary classes, Deogarh district attained 91% of attendance. In Kendrapara district, the highest of 77% in Elementary Schools (Class-VIII) was achieved.
Prior to the opening of schools, teachers and other staff undertook cleaning and sanitization work on the weekend.
The teachers have been instructed to adhere to Covid Appropriate Behavior like thermal scanning, physical distancing and wearing of mask. The teachers and supervisory officials have further been asked to report any health related issues of the children and the staff to appropriate authorities for urgent attentions.
A special cell has been opened at OSEPA and in S&ME Department to monitor the current school reopening issues.
