Satyabrata Rout Appointed as Secretary of Odisha Legislative Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed IAS officer Satyabrata Rout as the Secretary of the State Legislative Assembly, ahead of the upcoming Budget Session. The General Administration and Public Grievance Department issued a notification confirming his appointment on Friday.

A 2013-batch IAS officer, Rout previously served as Additional Secretary in the Works Department. His new role comes at a crucial time as the Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly is set to commence on February 13.

With Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, scheduled to present the state budget for the 2025-26 financial year on February 17, Rout’s appointment is expected to strengthen the legislative processes and ensure the smooth functioning of the Assembly.
