
Bhubaneswar: Saintala in Bolangir district got its own Milk Chilling Center. The center has been set up with a fund of Rs153.76 lakhs sanctioned by the Western Orissa Development Council. The center is likely to benefit over 650 Milk producing farmers of the region.
Chairman, WODC Asit Tripathy and Minister, Commerce & Transport and Water Resources Tukuni Sahoo jointly inaugurated the newly constructed center.
On Wednesday the Bulk Milk Cooler is made functional with the targeted 2000 liters of milk on the 1st day itself. Insulated Raw Milk Tanker was also flagged off to carry the milk to BKN at Bhawanipatna.
With the funding of WODC over 22 milk societies have been formed by involving 650 milk producing farmers and it is targeted to enhance collection upto 5000 liters of milk by next year. Interacting with the WSHG milk farmers, steel milk canes were distributed.
