
Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has been honored with the prestigious “Gold Award” in the State Energy Conservation Award 2024. The award, organized by the State Energy Conservation Mission of Andhra Pradesh, recognizes RINL’s exceptional efforts in energy conservation within the Iron & Steel category.
The award was received on behalf of RINL by Uttam Brahma, General Manager (Energy, Environment & Utilities), and VVVS Pulla Reddy, Deputy General Manager (Energy Management Department), during the valedictory celebrations of Energy Conservation Week held recently in Vijayawada. The accolade was presented by K. Vijayanand, IAS, Special Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Andhra Pradesh.
RINL earned this recognition for its innovative and impactful energy conservation measures implemented over the past three years, including initiatives focused on harnessing waste energy. These measures reflect RINL’s commitment to sustainable practices and its leadership in the iron and steel industry’s energy efficiency efforts.
Congratulating the team, A.K. Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director (additional charge) of RINL, lauded the efforts of the Energy Management and supporting departments at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He emphasized that the award underscores RINL’s ongoing dedication to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.
