Ringu Wandering, Jitendra Joshi and Angela Molina Win Big Awards at IFFI

Goa: Japanese Film ‘Ring Wandering’, a film which resurrects memories of Tokyo’s hidden war-torn past, bags the Golden Peacock award at the closing ceremony 52ndedition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

Czech Director Václav Kadrnka won the IFFI 52 Silver Peacock for Best Director for ‘Saving One Who Is Dead’.

Indian and Marathi Actor Jitendra Bhikulal Joshi Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Male) for his brilliant portrayal of Late Marathi actor and filmmaker Nishikant Kamat in filmmaker Nikhil Mahajan’s Marathi drama ‘Godavari’. 

Spanish Actor Angela Molina received the Silver Peacock for Best Actor (Female)  for her role as Charlotte.

‘Godavari’ director Nikhil Mahajan shared the special jury Silver Peacock award with Brazilian actor Renata Carvalho for ‘The First Fallen’. 

The Special Jury Mention was given to Roman Vasyanov for his Russian film ‘The Dorm’, which revolves around a group of friends from the erstwhile Soviet Union who try to live their lives and maintain dignity despite the corrupt system and people running their student dorm.
