Renowned Puppeteer Maguni Charan Kuanr Hospitalized in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Maguni Charan Kuanr, the esteemed puppeteer and recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award, has been admitted to the Keonjhar District Headquarter Hospital on Tuesday. Sources close to the artist reported that Kuanr’s hospitalization was prompted by his sudden illness, exacerbated by the stifling humidity prevalent in the region.

The veteran artist, known for his mastery in the art of puppetry, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing significant discomfort due to the oppressive weather conditions. This development follows an earlier health scare on April 2 when Kuanr was admitted to the KIMS Hospital in Bhubaneswar as his health took a turn for the worse.

Maguni Charan Kuanr’s contributions to the cultural landscape of Odisha and beyond have earned him widespread acclaim. His unique storytelling through the medium of puppetry has captivated audiences for decades, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the region.

The news of Kuanr’s hospitalization has stirred concern among his admirers and the artistic community alike. Many have expressed their well-wishes for his swift recovery, acknowledging his invaluable role in preserving and promoting the traditional art form of puppetry.
