Bhubaneswar: Odia film artist Manoj Mishra has taken a significant step into the realm of active politics by joining the Congress party in the state.
In a ceremony held at the Congress party state headquarters, Manoj Mishra officially joined the party in the presence of key leaders, including Congress’ Odisha in-charge Ajay Kumar, PCC president Sarat Patnayak, and senior MLA Narasingh Mishra.
Expressing his commitment to public service, Mishra stated that his decision to join politics was driven by a desire to serve the weaker sections of society. “I want to be a people’s servant. Having witnessed the sorrows of people, which is unbearable for me, I aspire to prevent others from experiencing what I have gone through. I aim to represent western Odisha and work towards advancing the interests of the people. Narasingh Mishra sir has guided me in this regard. I see a future in the Congress party through which I can work for my people,” said Manoj Mishra.
Narasingh Mishra, acknowledging Mishra’s dedication to serving the downtrodden, highlighted the discussions held with him and other leaders. Mishra has pledged to focus on addressing regional disparities, particularly in western Odisha, and contribute to the Congress party’s initiatives aimed at empowering the marginalized.
