
Bhubaneswar: Geeta Mehta, an acclaimed author, documentary filmmaker, and journalist, and the daughter of the legendary Biju Patnaik, has passed away in Delhi. She was the elder sister of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and was married to the late renowned American publisher, Sonny Mehta.
Born in 1943 to Biju and Gyan Patnaik in Delhi, she received her education in India and at the University of Cambridge in the UK. Geeta Mehta was known for her literary contributions, having authored five books, including “Karma Cola,” “Snake and Ladders,” “A River Sutra,” “Raj,” and “The Eternal Ganesha.”
