
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Information Commission gets senior advocate Jagannath Rath as the new State Information Commissioner. The announcement was made through a letter issued by the Information and Public Relations department on February 1, citing his appointment under Section 15 (3) of the Rights to Information Act, 2005.
Jagannath Rath, an esteemed legal professional and the honorary legal advisor to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, is set to join the ranks of Commissioners alongside Balkrushna Mahapatra and Sushant Kumar Mohanty at the Odisha Information Commission.
Hailing from a distinguished legal lineage, Rath, the youngest son of freedom fighter and senior advocate Bipin Behari Rath, and brother to Justice (Retd) Biswanath Rath, brings over two and a half decades of legal expertise to his new role. His previous roles include serving as the legal advisor to the Odisha Revenue Board.
