Bhubaneswar: Residents of Odisha can anticipate a reprieve from the scorching heat as the Meteorological Department has predicted rain and thunderstorms over the next 24 hours.
According to the latest bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the state is likely to experience rain, thunderstorms, and lightning accompanied by gusty winds due to the interaction of the trough aloft in middle and upper tropospheric westerlies with the hot and humid air from the Bay of Bengal.
The IMD advised people to seek safe shelter during thunderstorm activity to protect themselves from lightning and hailstorms.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha on April 7, as per the IMD forecast.
Furthermore, on April 8, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over the districts of north interior Odisha, south Odisha, and at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha.
