Reliance Joins Hands with Puri Administration to Ensure Devotee Comfort During Rath Yatra 2025

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha prepares for the world-renowned Rath Yatra in Puri, Reliance Industries Limited, in collaboration with the Puri district administration, has unveiled a large-scale initiative aimed at enhancing the comfort, safety, and overall experience of lakhs of devotees who will throng the coastal temple town to witness the sacred chariot procession of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra.

Carrying forward its commitment to seva, Reliance Foundation is supporting the 13-day religious event through a series of thoughtful and well-coordinated services, all rooted in the company’s ‘We Care’ philosophy.

“Seva is deeply rooted in Reliance’s ‘We Care’ philosophy, and the opportunity to serve devotees in Puri is truly a blessing. We believe that by serving pilgrims and personnel during the Rath Yatra, we are serving the divine,” said Anant M. Ambani, Executive Director, Reliance Industries Limited. “We are committed to enriching the experience of visitors through initiatives ranging from food to safety, making their journey smoother, safer, and more comfortable.”

Key initiatives undertaken by Reliance Foundation include:

  • Anna Seva: Hot, nutritious meals are being provided to lakhs of devotees and police personnel at six vital locations along the Rath Yatra route, ensuring that no one goes hungry.

  • Hygiene Measures: Contactless hand sanitizers have been installed at food stalls, garbage bags distributed in coordination with the local municipality, and sanitation facilities extended to police camps.

  • Crowd Management: Directional signboards and markers are being used to guide devotees efficiently, in collaboration with the police and municipal staff.

  • Volunteer Support: Over 4,000 trained volunteers in uniform will help manage crowds, distribute water, and assist pilgrims during peak summer heat.

  • Combating the Heat: More than 1.5 lakh eco-friendly hand fans are being distributed among devotees to help them stay cool during their journey.

  • Support for Police Personnel: Around 100 police aid posts have been set up along the yatra route, equipped with shelters and help desks for both law enforcement and pilgrims.

  • Rain Preparedness: With monsoon showers expected, 3,500 raincoats have been provided to police personnel. Refreshment kits are also being distributed among volunteers, municipal workers, and police staff.

Earlier this year, Reliance had undertaken similar large-scale support during Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, offering services ranging from meals to transportation. The Foundation’s involvement in Rath Yatra 2025 reflects its enduring commitment to supporting communities during major spiritual events.

With these initiatives, Reliance aims not only to ensure a safe and comfortable yatra for all but also to contribute meaningfully to the sacred atmosphere of Shri Kshetra, reinforcing its belief in service to humanity as service to divinity.
