Reliance Jio Surpasses 1.5 Crore Mobile Subscribers Milestone in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio, known for its exemplary digital services, has marked yet another milestone by crossing the 1.5 crore mobile subscribers mark in Odisha. According to the latest telecom subscriber data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio added over 87,000 new mobile subscribers, bringing its total number of mobile subscribers in Odisha to over 1.5 crores as of February 29, 2024. Remarkably, Jio saw the highest influx of new mobile subscribers in Odisha during the month of February.

On a national scale, Reliance Jio also emerged as the leader by adding the highest number of subscribers – 36 lakh in February alone. This achievement has propelled the total number of mobile subscribers on the Jio network to over 46.75 crores, securing a significant market share of over 40% in the telecom industry.

Reliance Jio has consistently maintained its position as the premier digital service provider in Odisha, commanding nearly 45% of the subscriber market share and 52% of the revenue market share in the industry. The surge in Jio’s subscriber base in the state can be attributed to its extensive 4G and 5G network coverage, rapid expansion into previously underserved regions, and the popularity of its budget-friendly offerings, notably the JioBharat 4G phone priced at just Rs. 999/-. This device provides access to premium applications such as JioSaavn, JioCinema, JioTV, and UPI payment facilities, among others.

Additionally, Jio has been aggressively expanding its JioAirFiber service, an integrated solution offering high-speed broadband, home entertainment, and smart home services. Presently available in over 250 towns and numerous villages across Odisha, JioAirFiber has revolutionized the digital landscape by providing world-class entertainment and broadband services to previously unconnected households and small businesses. Overcoming challenges related to last-mile connectivity, JioAirFiber has emerged as the go-to option for reliable high-speed broadband services in both urban and rural areas of the state.
