Ravindra Jadeja Announces Retirement from T20 Internationals

In a surprising move, India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 internationals on Sunday, just a day after India’s T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados. This decision follows similar announcements from star batter Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma, who also announced their retirement from the format after the World Cup win.

Jadeja, who had a below-par performance during the World Cup, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post bidding farewell to the shortest format of the game. “With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support. Jai Hind,” he wrote.

One of the world’s finest fielders, Jadeja confirmed he would continue playing in ODIs and Tests. Since his debut against Sri Lanka in 2009, Jadeja has played 74 T20I matches, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets.
