Ravi Shastri and Farokh Engineer Honored with Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award

Mumbai: In a star-studded event, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recognized the exceptional career of Ravi Shastri and former India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer with the prestigious Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ravi Shastri, a cricketing luminary with a multifaceted career, expressed his gratitude for the honor, describing the triumph at Australia’s Gabba as the “icing on the cake” in his illustrious journey. The ceremony, held in Mumbai, celebrated the top performers in men’s and women’s cricket from the 2019-20 season, highlighting their exceptional achievements on the cricketing stage.

Shastri, a vital part of India’s World Cup-winning squad in 1983, showcased his cricketing prowess, earning the Player of the Series title during the victorious World Series in 1985. As a coach, he played a pivotal role in India’s historic back-to-back Test series wins in Australia, a remarkable feat that established the team as the first Asian side to achieve such success.
