Ravenshaw University Teams Shine at State-Level Lex Intellecta 2025 Quiz Competition

Bhubaneswar: Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, dominated the state-level quiz competition Lex Intellecta 2025, securing both the first and third positions at the event organized by the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), the faculty of legal studies of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA), on Saturday. A team from S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, also from Cuttack, secured the second prize in the highly competitive event.

The quiz, conducted under the banner of Intellectus Society, witnessed an overwhelming response, with 30 teams registering and 22 actively participating. The competition unfolded in multiple rounds designed to test the participants’ knowledge, critical thinking, and composure under pressure.

The event began with ‘Primum Circum,’ a multiple-choice question (MCQ) elimination round, where the top ten teams were shortlisted. The second round, ‘Cheat the Chit,’ challenged participants’ critical thinking skills and engaged the audience with interactive segments. A special quiz was also conducted for non-participants to ensure inclusivity.

The final and most intense stage, ‘Lord of the Rounds,’ saw the top six teams battling through two challenging sub-rounds, displaying remarkable intellect and strategic thinking. The competition was conducted by Quiz Master Satwik Raut, an IIT-Bhubaneswar alumnus and Senior Editor of Brand Marketing at BankBazaar in Bengaluru. His engaging style and sharp wit kept the audience captivated throughout the event.

The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SOA, who awarded the prizes to the winners. Prof. Prabir Kumar Pattnaik, Senior Professor at SNIL, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of such competitions in fostering knowledge and intellectual growth.

Adding to the event’s vibrancy, a cultural interlude by ‘URJA’ featured a Bollywood mash-up and a mesmerizing classical flute recital.
