Raksha Rajya Mantri Reaffirms Government’s Support for PSUs During Visit to BEL

Bengaluru: Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) Sanjay Seth reiterated the Government’s commitment to strengthening Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) during his visit to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) at the Bengaluru Complex. Addressing BEL officials, Sanjay Seth emphasized the importance of PSUs enhancing their performance and maintaining competitiveness in today’s challenging market.

Commending BEL’s achievements, Sanjay Seth highlighted the PSU’s significant contributions to the Make in India initiative and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. He noted that BEL has developed numerous indigenous equipment and systems in collaboration with the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). This year alone, BEL secured patents for 150 items, reinforcing the spirit of self-reliance, he added.

During his visit, Sanjay Seth toured the Precision Manufacturing Facility at the Advanced Defence Systems Navy (ADSN) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), the Military Radars SBU, and the state-of-the-art EMI/EMC Lab. He was given demonstrations of the Coastal Surveillance System and the Perimeter Security System. Additionally, he visited the Smart City Experience Centre and the Product Development and Innovation Centre (PDIC), where he witnessed the innovation, research, and development of cutting-edge defense and security solutions.

Interacting with engineers, scientists, and researchers working on next-generation projects, the RRM expressed his appreciation for their efforts and encouraged continued innovation. To commemorate his maiden visit to BEL, Sanjay Seth planted a sapling at the PDIC.

Sanjay Seth was warmly received by BEL’s senior management, including CMD Manoj Jain, Director (Other Units) Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, Director (Finance) Damodar Bhattad, and Director (Marketing) K V Suresh Kumar.

In his address, Sanjay Seth stated, “The Government is dedicated to providing all necessary support and handholding to our PSUs to ensure their capacity building. It is crucial for PSUs to enhance their performance and remain competitive in this highly-competitive era. BEL’s substantial contributions to the Make in India initiative and Aatmanirbhar Bharat are commendable, and we will continue to support their efforts in developing indigenous technology and systems.”
