
Bhubaneswar: Raghurajpur, the heritage craft village of Odisha, has received the prestigious recognition of being named the Best Tourism Village in the Silver Category by the Ministry of Tourism on World Tourism Day.
During a ceremony held in New Delhi, this esteemed award was presented to Laxmidhara Subudhi, President of Raghurajpur, and Biswajit Routray, Joint Director of the Department of Tourism, Odisha.
Situated in the heart of Odisha’s Puri district, Raghurajpur stands as a living testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage. Often referred to as the “Heritage Village of Odisha,” Raghurajpur is a captivating destination that embodies traditional art forms, craftsmanship, and cultural practices passed down through generations.
Overwhelmed with the achievement , Akash Swain, an artist from Raghurajpur, said, “This recognition is a monumental achievement for our village. It fills us with immense pride to see our village acknowledged as the Best Tourism Village in the country. We are planning to celebrate this remarkable achievement and honor the dedicated artists of the village whose hard work and passion have earned us this prestigious award.”
