Principal Secretary Usha Padhee Reviews Key Initiatives at State Transport Authority

Bhubaneswar: Principal Secretary of the Commerce and Transport Department, Usha Padhee, visited the State Transport Authority (STA) on Friday and reviewed the implementation of various ongoing initiatives under the Transport Department.

During her visit, Padhee held detailed discussions with the officers and staff of the Authority, focusing particularly on the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for simultaneous payment through e-challan. She directed officials to ensure that the scheme is implemented in an efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly manner so that more people can avail of its benefits.

The Principal Secretary also underscored the importance of leveraging technology to enhance service delivery and improve public convenience. She highlighted that digital interventions play a crucial role in bringing greater transparency and efficiency to the transport administration.

Reaffirming that road safety remains a top priority, Padhee urged the officials to adopt a proactive and collective approach to reducing road accidents through awareness drives, strict enforcement, and innovative safety measures.

“Every small step in enforcement and awareness can save lives — it is our shared civic duty to ensure safer roads for all,” she remarked.

Motivating the officers and employees, Padhee encouraged them to discharge their duties with enthusiasm, integrity, and a spirit of public service. She emphasized that teamwork and dedication are essential to achieving the Department’s broader goals of safe, efficient, and technology-enabled transport governance.
