Prime Minister Narendra Modi Champions Women’s Empowerment Through Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat Programme

New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi. The highlight of the day was the agricultural drone demonstrations conducted by the Namo Drone Didis, with participants from 10 different locations nationwide showcasing their skills simultaneously.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi handed over drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis, emphasizing the transformative role of women in steering the technology revolution in the country. The Prime Minister praised the determination and persistence of these women entrepreneurs, highlighting their success in scripting new chapters of prosperity.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi disbursed approximately Rs 8,000 crore in bank loans to Self Help Groups (SHGs) at a subsidized interest rate through Bank Linkage Camps set up by banks in each district. An additional Rs 2,000 crore was allocated as Capitalization Support Fund to SHGs, further reinforcing the government’s commitment to financial inclusion.

The Prime Minister took the opportunity to interact with the beneficiaries, expressing confidence in the future of the nation as women entrepreneurs continue to thrive. He lauded the Nari Shakti for their resilience and stressed the importance of creating opportunities and ensuring the dignity of women in society.

“Any society can progress only through creating opportunities and ensuring the dignity of the Nari Shakti,” said Prime Minister Modi. He added that with just a little support, Nari Shakti transcends the need for support and becomes a source of strength for others.

Reflecting on his government’s initiatives, the Prime Minister outlined various schemes addressing the needs of women at different stages of their lives. These include Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, nutrition support for expecting mothers, Sukanya Samriddhi for education resources, Mudra Yojana for entrepreneurial support, and measures to improve healthcare and housing.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the role of women in the expansion of drone technology, envisioning their impact on areas such as transportation of agricultural produce, medicine delivery, and more. He expressed confidence that Nari Shakti will lead the technology revolution in the country.

The Prime Minister also commended the remarkable growth of self-help groups in India, surpassing 10 crore members. He recognized the pivotal role played by women in these groups and acknowledged their contributions to rural infrastructure development and overall community upliftment.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi encouraged self-help groups to participate in the implementation of the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana, assuring priority to those who take the initiative. Union Ministers Shri Arjun Munda, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and Shri Giriraj Singh were present at the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and economic development. The Namo Drone Didi and Lakhpati Didi initiatives align with the Prime Minister’s vision of fostering economic empowerment and financial autonomy among women, particularly in rural areas. The felicitation of Lakhpati Didis, who have achieved success through the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, further reinforces the government’s dedication to uplifting women across the country.
