Prime Minister Modi Unveils Transformational Projects Worth Over Rs 34,000 Crores in Azamgarh

Azamgarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated, and laid the foundation stone for an array of development initiatives valued at over Rs 34,000 crores in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, marking a significant stride towards comprehensive progress.

Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the departure from traditional practices of hosting such events in Delhi and emphasized Azamgarh’s emergence as a development hub. “Azamgarh, once considered backward, is scripting a new narrative of development today,” stated the Prime Minister. The event witnessed the inauguration and foundation laying of projects worth Rs 34,000 crore, contributing to the region’s holistic development.

Prime Minister Modi initiated and laid the foundation stone for 15 airport projects across the country, collectively valued at more than Rs 9,800 crore. The newly inaugurated terminal buildings include those at Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur airports. Additionally, the foundation stone for three new terminal buildings at Kadapa, Hubballi, and Belagavi airports was laid. Highlighting the efficiency of airport completion, Prime Minister Modi shared that the Gwalior terminal was accomplished in just 16 months.

The Prime Minister emphasized that these infrastructure developments, including airports, highways, and railways, are not merely election promises but are delivered with a commitment to the nation’s progress. He stressed that the ongoing government projects repudiate any accusations of being political gimmicks. “People are witnessing a different kind of determination in Modi. I am tirelessly working to build a developed India,” he asserted.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the diverse facets of development, including education, water, and the environment, receiving a significant boost. He reassured the people of Azamgarh, saying, ‘Azamgarh will remain a bastion of development forever.’ With the inauguration of an airport, hospital, and medical college, Azamgarh is no longer reliant on neighboring major cities.

Reflecting on the political shift in the last decade, the Prime Minister highlighted a transition from appeasement and dynasty politics to a focus on development. He credited Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership for giving momentum to this transformation, leading to improved connectivity for cities like Aligarh, Moradabad, Azamgarh, and Shravasti.

Prime Minister Modi stressed the equal right of small towns and villages to airports and good highways, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening tier 2 and tier 3 cities for continuous urbanization.

In addition to airport projects, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of railway projects connecting districts like Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Gazipur, and Prayagraj. Azamgarh, Mau, and Balia witnessed the commencement of numerous railway projects. Rural infrastructure development through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was also emphasized, with over 5,000 kilometers of roads inaugurated to improve connectivity for farmers and youth in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing the concerns of sugarcane farmers, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure fair prices, noting an 8 percent increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for sugarcane farmers. He discussed the settlement of pending dues worth thousands of crores, providing timely and fair payments to sugarcane farmers. The Prime Minister also highlighted transformative initiatives in biogas and ethanol, showcasing the government’s commitment to agricultural and environmental sustainability.

Prime Minister Modi concluded by sharing the impact of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in Azamgarh, where 8 lakh farmers received Rs 2,000 crore under the scheme. The transformative projects unveiled in Azamgarh mark a significant leap toward comprehensive development, reflecting the government’s dedication to the prosperity of the region and the nation.
