Prime Minister Modi Unveils India’s Longest Cable-Stayed Bridge, Sudarshan Setu

 

Okha:  In a momentous event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sudarshan Setu, a marvel of engineering that now connects the Okha mainland with Beyt Dwarka island. The grand inauguration ceremony saw the Prime Minister unveiling the bridge, which has been constructed at a staggering cost of approximately Rs. 980 crores.

Sudarshan Setu, spanning an impressive 2.32 kilometers, is now officially recognized as the longest Cable-stayed bridge in the country. The state-of-the-art structure is set to enhance connectivity between Okha and Beyt Dwarka, providing a crucial link for both residents and tourists.

Prime Minister Modi took to his official social media account, X, to share the exciting news with the nation. He posted, “Sudarshan Setu connecting Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka island built at a cost of around Rs. 980 crores. It is the longest Cable-stayed bridge in the country of around 2.32 Km.”

The Prime Minister’s post was accompanied by an image capturing the breathtaking view of Sudarshan Setu against the backdrop of the scenic surroundings. He aptly captioned the post, “Stunning Sudarshan Setu!”

The Sudarshan Setu project is a testament to India’s commitment to infrastructural development, providing not only a vital transportation link but also boosting economic activities in the region. The bridge is expected to facilitate smoother movement of goods and people, fostering growth and development in the area.
