President Murmu Advocates for Ayurveda’s Global Recognition at Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya’s 75th Anniversary

Puri: President of India,  Droupadi Murmu, graced the 75th-anniversary celebrations of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya in Puri on December 4, 2024. In her address, the President emphasized the enduring relevance of Ayurveda and the need to blend traditional wisdom with modern scientific approaches to make it globally recognized.

Highlighting the advancements in science and technology, President Murmu acknowledged how innovations like Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, and 3D printing are transforming research and development across disciplines. She stressed that while embracing modernity, it is equally important to understand and honor India’s glorious scientific heritage, referencing the contributions of ancient scholars like Aryabhata, Sushruta, and Charak.

The President expressed confidence in the students of Gopabandhu Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, urging them to undertake meaningful research that validates and promotes the efficacy of Ayurveda on global platforms. She emphasized the need for exploring untouched aspects of the ancient medical system to ensure its growth and recognition worldwide.

Drawing attention to the rich repository of tribal knowledge about medicinal herbs, President Murmu called for efforts to document and scientifically validate these practices. She expressed hope that the college would play a pivotal role in preserving this endangered traditional wisdom, ensuring its continued relevance in modern healthcare.

The event marked a significant moment for the institution as it reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the principles of Ayurveda through education, research, and community service.
