President Emphasizes Key Role of Naval Officers in National Security During Meeting at Rashtrapati Bhavan

 

New Delhi:  Officers from the Indian Naval Material Management Service (2019, 2020, and 2021 batches) and the Indian Naval Armament Service (2023 batch) were received by the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, today. During the meeting, the President underscored the crucial role these officers play in ensuring the safety and security of the nation by equipping the Indian Navy with armament and essential resources.

Addressing the officers, President Murmu expressed her confidence in their ability to contribute significantly to the nation’s maritime interests. She highlighted the increasing global attention on maritime goals and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of supporting the Indian Navy through efficient logistic management and advanced technology.

President Murmu stated, “As India emerges as a global power, the need for efficient logistic support and armament supply cannot be overemphasized. Your role as managers of logistic support and armament supply is vital for the smooth functioning of the Indian Navy, particularly in these times of geo-political challenges.”

The President commended the Indian Naval Material Management Service officers for their major role in ensuring the availability of materials to facilitate the operational readiness of the Indian Navy. She encouraged them to leverage the latest technology to enhance the service delivery system and urged them to come up with innovative approaches for super-efficient and seamless inventory management.

In addition to their operational responsibilities, President Murmu emphasized the importance of environmental sustainability. She urged the officers to ensure that various projects are energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and sustainable. Recognizing their role as engineers, she stressed their potential to contribute significantly to creating a healthier, safer, and happier planet for future generations through the implementation of environmentally sound initiatives.

As the meeting concluded, the President expressed her confidence in the dedication and capabilities of the officers, stating that their efforts would be instrumental in upholding the nation’s maritime interests and ensuring the Indian Navy’s continued readiness.
