President Droupadi Murmu Initiates Major Development Projects in Rairangpur, Odisha

 

Rairangpur:   President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, laid the foundation stones for the Central Government Holiday Home and Sports Complex in Rairangpur, Odisha today, in a move towards bolstering infrastructure and promoting the welfare of tribal communities. The ceremonial event, held on February 28, 2024, also saw the virtual inauguration of various road projects and the Eklavya Model Residential School in Barsahi.

Addressing the gathered audience, President Murmu underscored the government’s steadfast commitment to the development of tribal areas and the well-being of tribal brothers and sisters. Emphasizing the need for progress, she highlighted initiatives such as the expansion of electricity and roads in tribal-dominated regions. Furthermore, President Murmu announced the initiation of providing tap water to tribal families, stating that a national mission had been launched to eradicate the long-standing issue of sickle cell anemia within tribal communities.

Encouraging awareness and active participation, the President urged the public to familiarize themselves with various welfare schemes, emphasizing that development hinges on collective efforts. She conveyed that citizens must become beneficiaries of these schemes for comprehensive progress.

President Murmu stressed the paramount importance of education for societal development, announcing the establishment of Eklavya Model Residential Schools specifically tailored for tribal students. While acknowledging the government’s role in creating educational institutions, she emphasized the parental responsibility of ensuring children attend school.

Highlighting the necessity of women’s empowerment for a stronger society, President Murmu outlined government schemes aimed at fostering financial self-reliance among women. She called for widespread cooperation and partnership, underscoring that the success of these initiatives depends on the active involvement of all stakeholders.

Expressing confidence in the transformative impact of the initiated projects, President Murmu predicted that the road projects would ensure safe travel. She anticipated that the Sports Complex’s construction would offer enhanced sports opportunities for the youth. Furthermore, she envisaged that the completion of the Holiday Home would attract visitors to Rairangpur, providing not only a boost to tourism but also generating employment opportunities for the local populace.

The initiatives undertaken by President Droupadi Murmu reflect a comprehensive approach to development, encompassing infrastructure, education, and social empowerment, with a particular focus on tribal communities in Rairangpur, Odisha.
