President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates ‘SRIJAN 2024’ Art Exhibition at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre

New Delhi: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, graced the inauguration of an Art Exhibition at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre today, featuring captivating works created by artists participating in the ‘SRIJAN 2024’ Artist-in-Residency initiative.

The exhibition showcased the artistic endeavors of 13 talented individuals who were part of the Residency program, residing at Rashtrapati Bhavan from February 21 to 27, 2024. This unique initiative brought together a diverse group of artists, including seasoned professionals like Vasudeo Kamath, Nihar Das, and Kavita Nayar, alongside emerging talents such as Jayashree Jena, Manish Kumar Gond, and Pratap Badatya.

During their stay, the artists engaged in a spectrum of activities, including painting workshops and panel discussions. The program also welcomed students from various schools and colleges in Delhi, fostering an enriching exchange of ideas and creativity.

The exhibition not only serves as a testament to the vibrant artistic expressions cultivated during the residency but also provides a platform for these creations to be shared with the public. Following the conclusion of the exhibition at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, the paintings will find a new home in the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, ensuring a wider audience can appreciate the talent and perspectives brought to life during ‘SRIJAN 2024’.

The ‘SRIJAN’ initiative continues to be a catalyst for artistic collaboration and exploration, fostering an environment that nurtures creativity and dialogue between seasoned artists and the emerging voices in the Indian art scene. This exhibition is a celebration of diversity in artistic expression, symbolizing the vibrant cultural spirit that resides within the hallowed halls of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
