President Droupadi Murmu Commends Medical Students and Consultants for their Service to Society

New Delhi:   President Droupadi Murmu welcomed a group of dedicated medical students and consultants from various medical colleges in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The visit was organized under the Sevankur Bharat Programme initiated by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan.

During the meeting, President Murmu expressed her delight at the commendable efforts of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan, an organization devoted to providing affordable health services to the underprivileged for the past three decades. The organization also focuses on skill development, employment generation, and empowering Self-Help Groups (SHGs), contributing significantly to social service and nation-building.

The President highlighted the positive impact of the Sevankur Bharat Programme, launched in 1997, in promoting national integrity and unity. She commended the initiative for guiding the youth towards a path of public service and instilling the spirit of ‘Nation First’ among them. President Murmu particularly appreciated the ‘During Vacation – One Week for Nation’ program, where students spend time in tribal areas, fostering a sense of social responsibility.

In her address, President Murmu emphasized the importance of healthcare professionals prioritizing public welfare over financial gains. She underscored that values like compassion, kindness, and philanthropy should be ingrained in the character of those in the healthcare profession. Drawing inspiration from the life of Babasaheb Ambedkar, she urged individuals to utilize personal success for the betterment of society and work towards social justice, equality, and fraternity.

The meeting concluded with the President expressing gratitude for the impactful contributions of the medical students, consultants, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan in serving the nation and uplifting the underprivileged sections of society. The event serves as a testament to the ongoing commitment to public welfare and the enduring spirit of selfless service among the healthcare community.
