President Droupadi Murmu Attends Funeral Mass of Pope Francis at Vatican City

Vatican City: President of India, Droupadi Murmu, today attended the funeral Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis at Saint Peter’s Square in Vatican City. Representing the nation at this solemn occasion, President Murmu was accompanied by members of the official Indian delegation.

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju; Minister of State for Minority Affairs, George Kurian; and Deputy Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Joshua De Souza, were also present during the ceremony.

The funeral witnessed the participation of several world leaders, monarchs, and dignitaries from across the globe, as they gathered to pay their final respects to Pope Francis, who passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 88.
