
New Delhi: The prestigious Padma Awards for the year 2024 were conferred with grandeur as President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented 3 Padma Vibhushan, 8 Padma Bhushan, and 55 Padma Shri Awards at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held in the opulent Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan today.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including the Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, among others.
On April 23, the Padma Awardees will pay homage at the National War Memorial. Additionally, they will visit Rashtrapati Bhawan and the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya as part of their itinerary.
The Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian honors in India, recognize individuals from various fields who have made exceptional contributions to society, culture, arts, science, and public service.
