Bhubaneswar: The first preparatory meeting for Krushi Odisha 2025-26 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, marking the beginning of detailed planning for one of Odisha’s most awaited agricultural events.
The three-day mega event, to be organized from January 22 to 24, 2025, will be celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing together a wide array of stakeholders from across the state and the country. It was decided in the meeting that Krushi Odisha will henceforth be organized every year in January on fixed dates, giving it a permanent place in the state’s annual agricultural calendar.
The event will see participation from intellectuals, successful farmers, scientists, agricultural producers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from different parts of India. More than 250 stalls will be showcased by agricultural entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and Mission Shakti members, providing a vibrant platform for innovation, learning, and exchange of ideas. Over 10,000 farmers are expected to attend the conference this year.
As part of the event, a special exhibition on farm mechanization and modern agricultural equipment will be organized to highlight advancements in technology and promote mechanized farming practices among the farming community. The meeting also deliberated on accommodation and logistical arrangements for farmers traveling from distant regions to ensure their comfortable participation.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture Shubham Saxena, and Director of Soil Conservation & Watershed Management Subrat Kumar Panda, along with senior officials of the department, reviewed the ongoing preparations in detail. They also presented constructive suggestions to ensure the successful organization of Krushi Odisha 2025-26.
