Bhubaneswar: The highly anticipated Bali Yatra, one of Odisha’s most famous cultural and commercial festivals, is set to commence in Cuttack on November 15 this year. Cuttack District Collector, Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, announced the festival’s opening date while sharing details about preparations underway for the event.
While the duration of the Bali Yatra is yet to be finalized, the decision will be made during an upcoming state-level meeting, the Collector confirmed. This year’s event will feature enhanced organizational measures to ensure smooth operations, including the implementation of a single-window system for the allocation of stalls to the numerous traders participating in the extravaganza.
To accommodate the expected influx of visitors and merchants, more areas will be marked for stalls, and special attention will be given to improving traffic management to alleviate parking congestion, a frequent challenge during the festival. A green corridor will also be established to facilitate the movement of ambulances and VIPs.
Acknowledging the large crowds expected, the district administration has plans to install additional public facilities such as toilets to enhance visitor convenience. As preparations progress, further details regarding the event’s logistics will be announced.
