Preparations for Utkarsh Odisha in Final Phase: Aiming to Elevate Odisha’s Investment Appeal

Bhubaneswar: Preparations for the highly anticipated Utkarsh Odisha investment summit are in full swing, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewing a comprehensive progress report presented by the Principal Secretary of the Industries Department.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Majhi stressed the importance of creating a distinctive identity for Odisha as a premier destination for national and international investors. He called for meticulous execution of all programs to ensure the state attracts long-term investments and emerges as a preferred hub for industrial growth.

Key Highlights of Utkarsh Odisha

The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) will kick off its National Executive Council Meeting on January 27, setting the stage for two days of intensive discussions and networking sessions on January 28-29.

The event promises to be a landmark occasion, featuring:

  • Four plenary sessions
  • 16 sector-specific discussions
  • Four roundtable conferences

The summit is expected to draw approximately 3,000 participants, including prominent national and international industrial leaders, investors, startup founders, and key stakeholders from the industrial ecosystem.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a keynote address to industrialists and investors on January 28, marking a major highlight of the event.

Special Sessions and Focus Areas

The summit will also feature:

  • Sector-specific sessions addressing Odisha’s opportunities across industries such as IT, renewable energy, manufacturing, and tourism.
  • Speeches by leading industrialists and CEOs sharing insights on global trends and investment strategies.
  • A dedicated session for Odia entrepreneurs, emphasizing local talent and innovation.
  • A special segment for women business leaders, including a session titled ‘Subhadraru Mudra’ aimed at empowering Odia women entrepreneurs.

An industrial exhibition will run from January 28 to 30, offering an extensive showcase of Odisha’s industrial strengths, emerging sectors, and investment opportunities. The exhibition aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the state’s potential to domestic and global investors.

The meeting to review preparations was attended by key officials, including Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunja Bihari Dhal, and Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department Surendra Kumar, along with Principal Secretaries and Secretaries from various departments.
