Bhubaneswar: In anticipation of the inaugural World Odia Language Conference, the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar is set to host a two-day pre-conference event focusing on “Odia Language and Odisha’s Art and Culture” on February 1 and 2.
The research-based discussions during the conference, taking place in the research centre’s auditorium, will feature the participation of distinguished linguists, researchers, litterateurs, experts, singers, and dancers. The event will comprise two sessions on both days, with the first session scheduled from 11 am to 2 pm and the second from 3 pm to 5 pm.
On the inaugural day, Dr Babaji Pattnaik and Dr Krishna Keshab Sarangi will share their insights, and the event will be presided over by Dr Basant Panda and Dr Kirtan Narayan Padhi.
The second day of the discussion will witness presentations by Dr Santyanu Rath and Dr Ajay Mishra, with Dr Sarat Chandra Rath and Dr Sanghamitra Mishra presiding over the sessions.
This pre-conference event is designed to set the stage for the first-ever Biswa Odia Bhasha Sammilani (World Odia Language Conference), organized by the state government, scheduled to take place from February 3 to 5 in the capital city. As Odisha gears up to celebrate its language and culture on a global platform, these pre-conference discussions aim to delve into the rich linguistic and artistic heritage of the region.
