
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para shuttler, Pramod Bhagat, added another remarkable achievement to his name by securing a gold medal in the men’s singles category at the Para Asian Games in China. In a closely contested match, Pramod clinched victory over his compatriot Nitesh Kumar with a score of 22-20, 18-21, and 21-19, claiming the top spot on the podium.
With this latest triumph, Pramod has etched his name in the history books, becoming the first para-athlete to secure three medals, including two bronze and one gold, at the Para Asian Games. His outstanding performance in both the singles and doubles events has exemplified his exceptional skill and determination on the international stage.
Additionally, Pramod and his partner Manisha Ramdass claimed a bronze medal in the para-badminton mixed doubles event.
Reflecting on his outstanding performance, Pramod expressed his elation and gratitude. “I am thrilled to have secured the gold medal in the men’s singles category and to have won medals in all three events I participated in.
