
PM Narendra Modi to Interact with PM-JANMAN Beneficiaries
New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the distribution of the first instalment to 1 lakh beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) on January 15, 2024, at 12 noon through a virtual ceremony. During the event, the Prime Minister will also engage in an interactive session with the beneficiaries of PM-JANMAN.
Launched on November 15, 2023, on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, PM-JANMAN is aligned with the vision of Antyodaya, emphasizing the empowerment of the last person at the last mile. The initiative focuses on the socio-economic welfare of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and aims to enhance their living conditions through various interventions.
With an allocated budget of approximately Rs 24,000 crore, PM-JANMAN encompasses 11 crucial interventions across 9 Ministries. The initiative seeks to uplift PVTG households and habitations by providing essential facilities such as secure housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, improved education, healthcare, nutrition, electricity, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
