PM Internship Scheme Opens Round 2 with Over 1 Lakh Paid Internship Opportunities

New Delhi: The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) has launched Round 2 of its pilot phase, offering over 1 lakh paid internship opportunities across 730+ districts in India. Following an overwhelming response of more than 6 lakh applications in Round 1, this phase aims to provide even more young individuals with valuable industry exposure.

Internship Opportunities in Leading Companies

More than 300 top companies from diverse sectors, including Oil & Gas, Banking & Finance, Automotive, Manufacturing, FMCG, Metals & Mining, and Travel & Hospitality, have partnered with PMIS. The initiative is designed to equip young professionals with real-world experience, industry networking opportunities, and enhanced employability.

How to Apply & Key Features of Round 2

  • Eligible youth can select internships based on district, state, sector, and proximity to their current location.
  • Each applicant can apply for up to three internships until the application deadline.
  • More than 70 IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) events are being held across India in colleges, universities, ITIs, and Rozgar Melas, targeting districts with maximum internship opportunities.
  • A nationwide digital campaign is also underway to reach youth through multiple platforms and influencers.

Who Can Apply?

The PMIS, spearheaded by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, is designed for individuals aged 21 to 24, who are not enrolled in any full-time academic program or employment. Each selected intern will receive:

  • A monthly stipend of ₹5,000
  • A one-time financial assistance of ₹6,000
  • A structured 12-month internship, including at least six months of hands-on professional experience
