Physical classes for 1 – 7 to start in Odisha from February 28

Bhubaneswar: After a gap of two years, middle schools in Odisha will open its door for physical classes.

State School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday informed that the physical classes for students of Class 1 to 7 will resume in the state from February 28.

However, the first week will be utilised in interacting and engaging the students with several activities  planned by the concerned authorities.

Interacting with media, Dash shared, “As the students have been away from schools for the past two years, so several activities have been planned to refresh their mind. The special programme will done for one week after which the teaching process will start.”

“There will be interactive sessions and students will be asked to write how they spent their time during this period and other activities,” he said.

Earlier, the State Government had reopened the schools for the physical classes for Class 8 -12 from February 7 and announced to reopen the classes for 1-7 from February 14. However, the authorities postponed the physical classes for 1-7 to 28 after several district collectors sought additional time for undertaking cleaning of schools. Moreover, most of the schools were used as polling stations for the recently conducted Panchayat Polls across the State.
