PGT Training Programme for Aided Higher Secondary Schools Concludes in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A five-day professional development training programme for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) from non-government aided Higher Secondary Schools concluded today under the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE). Teachers of Political Science and Economics participated in the programme, with a total of 90 PGTs attending.

Speaking at the valedictory session, Niyati Pattanaik, Director, DHSE, underscored the importance of continuous professional growth among teachers to ensure holistic student development. She urged teachers to work towards creating a fear-free and stress-free learning environment, enabling students to learn with confidence and curiosity.

The programme proceedings were conducted by Snigdha Mishra, Joint Director. Other dignitaries present included Binita Senapati, Joint Director; Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director; and Dr. Umakanta Sethi, OIC, SAMS. The vote of thanks was proposed by C.H. Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Director.

Across the five days, the training focused on strengthening professional competencies among PGT teachers, with sessions covering career awareness, classroom management, group activities, professional growth pathways, and the framework of Aspirational Schools. Participants attended 25 structured sessions along with a local field visit, ensuring a blend of theoretical and experiential learning. The programme concluded with feedback collection and distribution of certificates.
