Pathani Samanta Planetarium Gears Up for Rare Planetary Parade

Bhubaneswar: The Pathani Samanta Planetarium in Bhubaneswar is set to delight astronomy enthusiasts with a rare celestial event as six planets align in a spectacular planetary parade from January 21 to 31. The event promises a stunning visual treat, with Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn visible to the naked eye, while Neptune and Uranus can be observed through binoculars and telescopes.

This extraordinary alignment sees the planets forming a straight line in the night sky, offering a unique opportunity to witness a cosmic phenomenon. The celestial gathering will be visible daily, except on Mondays, between 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

In preparation for the event, the planetarium, under the Department of Science & Technology, has made all necessary arrangements for stargazers. Special telescopes and binoculars have been set up to ensure visitors can fully experience the beauty of the planetary parade.

Officials from the planetarium emphasized that such alignments are rare and provide an opportunity for the public to deepen their understanding of astronomy and the wonders of the universe.

Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to observe the marvels of the solar system and immerse themselves in the awe-inspiring beauty of the night sky.
