
Bhubaneswar: Partial lockdown in Odisha has been extended till 6 am on August 1.
Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra on Thursday informed that shops and commercial establishments in 20 districts in Category-A will remain open from 6 am till 8 pm every day. There will be no weekend shutdown in these districts.
The districts in Category-A are Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.
Night curfew in these districts will be from 8 pm to 6 am.
Similarly, shops and commercial establishments in 10 districts in Category-B districts will remain open from 6 am till 5 pm. However, the weekend shutdown in these 10 districts will continue.
Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj are the 10 districts in Category-B. The night curfew in these districts will be from 5 pm to 6 am.
Mohapatra further informed that he buses will be allowed to ply in all districts of the state except Puri till July 25. Taxi and auto-rickshaw can move across the state.
Schools and Colleges will remain closed in the state till further orders. The restrictions on parks, malls, movie theatres, exhibitions and jatra will continue. Bars will remain closed, while restaurants will be allowed with takeaways only.
The restrictions on marriage and funeral functions will continue as usual.
However, the government has decided to allow gym, spa and beauty parlours to open from Friday following strict COVID guidelines.
