“Painfreeodisha” Spearheads Specialized Pain Management in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: “Painfreeodisha,” Odisha’s pioneering brand of interventional pain clinic, is revolutionizing pain management in the region with its super-specialty treatment modalities. Dedicated to providing comprehensive care for chronic and debilitating pain conditions, including cancer pain, the clinic offers non-surgical interventions on a day-care basis. By addressing common ailments such as back pain, neck pain, and knee pain, “Painfreeodisha” aims to enhance the quality of life for patients, enabling them to lead fulfilling and productive lives.

Taking a significant step forward in its mission to create a pain-free society, “Painfreeodisha” has launched the “Professional Pain Training Academy” (ProPainTA) to train senior doctors in specialized pain management practices. The academy aims to equip medical professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively manage pain and alleviate the burden of pain-related disorders in society.

“We believe in empowering healthcare professionals with advanced training in pain management to enhance the quality of care for patients,” stated Prof. Dr. Shovan Kumar Rath, Director of Painfreeodisha, who brings over 14 years of experience in the field of pain management. Dr. Rath, along with Dr. Debasish Jena, has embarked on this initiative to train doctors not only from Odisha but also from across the nation and internationally.

Established in 2010, “Painfreeodisha” stands as the first comprehensive multidisciplinary pain clinic in Bhubaneswar, filling a crucial gap in healthcare services in the region. Beyond offering relief to individuals suffering from chronic pain, the clinic is committed to raising awareness among both medical professionals and the public about the efficacy of interventional pain management techniques.

The ProPainTA curriculum is designed to provide practicing pain specialists with comprehensive training, thereby elevating the standard of pain management services in the state and beyond. Doctors from various parts of the country will undergo training sessions at Health Village Hospital, Bhubaneswar, conducted by Dr. Rath and his team.
