Over 92 Lakh Women Apply for Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana; First Installment Disbursed to 25.11 Lakh Beneficiaries

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Subhadra Yojana, a state initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to women, has received an overwhelming response, with over 92 lakh women registering for the scheme. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the government has already disbursed the first installment of benefits to 25.11 lakh beneficiaries.

Parida assured that women who have applied but are yet to receive the first installment would get the funds soon. “The number of registered women under Subhadra Yojana is expected to reach 1 crore by this weekend,” she added, reflecting the growing impact and reach of the scheme.

In addressing concerns about pending payments, Parida confirmed that all beneficiaries awaiting their first installment would have the amount credited to their bank accounts by March 8, aligning with International Women’s Day, when the second installment will also be distributed. The transfer process, being handled online, has led to some delays, but the state government is working to ensure a smooth and timely delivery.

The scheme’s four slabs of financial assistance are expected to be finalized soon, with all eligible women, excluding taxpayers, set to receive the support. Parida emphasized the inclusivity of the program, designed to empower women across the state.
