Over 4000 women of 300 SHG on a mission to stitch 30 lakh flags

Bhubaneswar: With only a few days left for the 75th Independence Day celebration, the Self Help Groups (SHG) in Odisha are working day and night to complete 30 lakh national flags.

As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga, a campaign announced by Prime Minister of India to mark the 75th year of Indian independence, people have been appealed to hoist the tricolour flag in their homes.

The Mission Shakti in Odisha has engaged SHG to stitch 30 lakh tricolour flags to be hoisted atop houses and institutions from August 13-15 this year.

Around 4000 members of over 300 SHG and PGs from across 22 districts of the state have been working to complete the target.
