
Bhubaneswar: The 39th Annual Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) Odisha Chapter, OSASICON 2024, was held today at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The event brought together esteemed medical professionals, including Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Puri MP Dr. Sambit Patra, and other experts from the medical field.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mahaling highlighted the Odisha Government’s ambitious plans to revolutionize healthcare and medical education under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. “The government is committed to establishing new medical colleges in every district over the next five years, significantly strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the state,” he stated.
In a major announcement, Dr. Mahaling revealed the State Government’s plans to introduce Robotic Surgery in the next financial year. This cutting-edge technology aims to enhance the standard of medical treatment, offering greater precision, improved patient care, and shorter recovery times. “Odisha is poised to bring in the latest advancements in medical science to ensure the highest level of care for its citizens,” he added.
The conference served as a platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on advancements in the field of surgery, with a focus on elevating healthcare standards in Odisha. Experts emphasized the importance of adopting innovative technologies to meet the evolving needs of patients and reduce the burden on traditional surgical practices.
