Opening of Shree Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandar Set to Begin Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The long-anticipated opening of the Ratna Bhandar, the treasure trove of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, will commence tomorrow, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan announced on Saturday. This decision brings an end to months of speculation and public curiosity.

“A high-level committee proposed a standard operating procedure (SOP), which was reviewed by the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee and has been accepted by the government today. The process of opening the Ratna Bhandar will begin tomorrow at an auspicious time decided by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA),” Harichandan informed reporters during a briefing.

The Law Minister emphasized that the work will proceed in phases to ensure thoroughness and precision.

“To ensure transparency in the inventory of ornaments, we are seeking assistance from the Reserve Bank of India. Their representatives will be present to cooperate with the managing committee team. The Chief Administrator of the SJTA has been tasked with overseeing the process smoothly,” he added.
