Bhubaneswar: A litre of OMFED toned milk will cost Rs 58 from October 4, following a Rs 4 increase announced by the cooperative. Prices of its Premium and Gold Plus variants will also go up by Rs 2 per litre.
The revised rate of toned milk will rise from Rs 54 to Rs 58, while the 500-ml packet will cost Rs 2 more. OMFED Premium will now be priced at Rs 60 per litre against the existing Rs 58. Gold Plus will cost Rs 66 per litre, up from Rs 64. For both Premium and Gold Plus, the price of a half-litre packet will increase by Re 1.
The retail price revision comes after OMFED raised the procurement rate paid to dairy farmers by Rs 2 per litre from September 11.
The cooperative had said the increase was intended to provide better returns to farmers amid rising production and transportation costs. The higher prices of cattle feed and other essential inputs were cited among the factors behind the decision.
