OMFED Revises Milk Prices Across Odisha; New Rates in Effect from June 12

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has increased the prices of its milk variants starting today. The revised prices cover all major categories—Toned, Premium, Gold Premium, and Gold Premium+—with the hike ranging from ₹2 to ₹4 per litre.

Under the new pricing structure, Toned Milk is now priced at ₹50 per litre, and Premium Milk at ₹54 per litre—both up by ₹2. Gold Premium Milk has seen a steeper hike of ₹4 and will now cost ₹56 per litre, while the Gold Premium+ variant has gone up to ₹60 per litre.

OMFED has cited rising production and procurement costs as the reason behind the revision. Officials stated that the increase is essential to ensure that farmers receive fair remuneration while sustaining quality and supply standards across Odisha’s growing dairy network.

To mitigate the burden on consumers, the state government has stepped in to subsidize ₹2 of the price hike for each milk category. As a result, the net increase borne by customers will be lower than the actual revision announced by OMFED.
