Odisha Yatri Crosses 5 Lakh Trips, Emerges as State’s Fastest-Growing Public Mobility App

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s integrated public mobility platform Odisha Yatri has crossed a significant milestone of 5 lakh completed trips, reinforcing its position as one of the State’s fastest-growing ride-hailing and public transport applications.

The platform is witnessing strong commuter traction, with over 28 lakh ride searches recorded to date—an indication of rising user engagement across major urban centres. Backed by 3.1 lakh registered users and a rapidly expanding fleet of 15,000 drivers, Odisha Yatri is registering one of the highest driver acceptance rates in India at over 90%, enabling faster pickups, reduced cancellations, and an improved commuter experience.

A key driver of the app’s popularity is its zero-commission model, which has already facilitated ₹7.5 crore in driver earnings, offering transparent fares and assured, stable income for mobility partners across the State.

Building on its robust growth in ride-hailing, Odisha Yatri is now preparing for a major shift in public transport. The platform is set to introduce QR-based digital ticketing for Ama Bus, with an aim to achieve 50% digital ticket adoption within the next 3–4 months. This transition is expected to cut revenue leakage, enhance operational efficiency, and provide commuters with a seamless paperless ticketing experience.

The Government of Odisha is steering the platform toward becoming the State’s unified mobility super app, integrating autos, cabs, buses, public attractions, and future transport modes into a single digital ecosystem.

Speaking on the milestone, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, said that Odisha Yatri embodies the Government’s vision of modern, inclusive, and tech-enabled public transport for all citizens. She added that expansion to new cities, additional vehicle categories, and deeper integration with both public and private transport systems is underway.

With strong growth momentum, Odisha Yatri now aims to surpass 10 lakh completed trips by March 2026, driven by rising commuter adoption, increased driver availability, multimodal expansion, and continuous digital innovations — redefining everyday travel in Odisha while supporting sustainable livelihoods for thousands of drivers.
