Bhubaneswar: To enhance the educational infrastructure in Odisha, the state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Education, to implement the Prime Minister’s School for Rising India (PM Shri) Yojana.
Under the MoU, approximately 800 schools in Odisha will be transformed into PM Shri Schools, embodying the core principles of the National Education Policy (NEP). These schools will serve as model institutions, showcasing the fundamental elements of the NEP in action.
To date, 31 states and Union Territories, along with central organizations such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), have signed MoUs with the Ministry of Education to upgrade their schools under the PM Shri School Yojana.
As per the implementation plan, two schools in every block and urban area in Odisha will be developed into PM Shri Schools. This strategic distribution aims to ensure widespread access to high-quality education across the state.
