Odisha Tennis Association Kicks Off AITA OTA All India Super Series Tennis Tournament 2024

Bhubaneswar: The fervour of competitive tennis echoed through the Kalinga Stadium Tennis Complex in Bhubaneswar as the AITA OTA All India Super Series Boys & Girls Under-12 & Under-14 Juniors Tennis Tournament 2024 commenced on March 2nd. Hosted by the Odisha Tennis Association (OTA), the tournament is scheduled to run until March 8th, bringing together 88 promising young players.

With a total of 109 entries for the singles category, the tournament showcases a rich talent pool of young tennis enthusiasts hailing from states such as Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Assam, Delhi, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Pondicherry.

The Opening Ceremony, held at the Kalinga Stadium, was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri Dr. Satyajit Mohanty, Retd. IPS, Secretary of Odisha Tennis Association, and Shri Sanjeeb Panda, IPS, Jt Secretary of Odisha Tennis Association cum Tournament Director – Commissionerate Police Odisha. Distinguished members of the Odisha Tennis Association marked the inauguration of this prestigious tournament.

Participants in the tournament will vie for valuable All India Ranking points, with the winner earning 50 points and the finalist securing 40 points. These points play a crucial role in determining the national standings of the players, intensifying the competition on the courts.

The AITA Supervisor for this event, Mr. Prabin Kumar Nayak, ensures fair play and strict adherence to the standards set by the All India Tennis Association.

The tournament promises to be a showcase of exceptional tennis talent, contributing significantly to the growth of tennis in the country.
