Bhubaneswar: Reaffirming the state’s commitment to building a sustainable future, Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo today declared Odisha’s resolve to achieve the ambitious goal of a Green Odisha, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Clean and Green India.

Chairing a high-level meeting at the Lok Seva Bhavan Conference Hall, Singh Deo, who also oversees the Energy and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment departments, reviewed a proposal from Apollo Green Energy Limited, which showcased its intent to invest ₹4,500 crore in green energy projects across Odisha.

Apollo Green Energy made a detailed presentation during the session, highlighting plans to establish 1000 MW of solar power capacity in the state. The projects are expected to generate employment for nearly 3,000 people, both directly and indirectly, while supporting Odisha’s clean energy transition.

The company is currently executing a 54 MWP solar power project worth ₹151 crore in Ganjam district under the EPC-ground solar mode. Building on this momentum, the company aims to expand operations into other regions of the state with integrated solutions, including battery energy storage systems to manage surplus power effectively.

Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo assured Apollo Green Energy of full state support, stating, “The Odisha Government is committed to providing all necessary facilities to encourage investments in green energy and achieve the Green Odisha vision. We welcome Apollo Green Energy’s partnership in this journey.”

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Energy Department Principal Secretary Vishal Dev, OPTCL CMD Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, GRIDCO MD Trilochan Panda, and Apollo Green Energy CEO Sanjay Gupta along with President Rakesh Gupta and other senior officials.
